When young, a select few children of this land receive a magical brand, marking them as someone who will one day receive a dragon companion. Dragonar Academy is set in a country where dragons are numerous. If that doesn’t define a guilty pleasure, I don’t know what does. Would I watch it again knowing what I was in for? Indeed I would. Would I have hated it if not for one specific feature? Absolutely. Netflix is heavily invested in the anime space, to the point where it’s gotten difficult to keep track of just how many anime titles it’s producing or licensing - especially when juggling between the long-running franchise hits like Pokémon and the single-season gems like Cowboy Bebop.
